Obituary of Connie Elaine Bergman

Connie Elaine Calander Bergman, age 87, passed away very peacefully in-the devoted care of the Pillars Hospice staff on July 30th, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Anna Calander. She is survived by her best friend of 73 years and husband of 69 years, Curt. Their family consists of four children, Glenn (wife Tami), Gary (wife Connie), David (best friend Cindy) and Diane (husband Charlie); eight grandchildren, Jessica, Sarah, Kendal, Lindsay, Nicole, William, Ross and Erik; and one great-grandson, Ario. Connie grew up on the St. Paul East Side and graduated from Johnson High School. A lifelong learner, she received her Associate degree from the University of Minnesota at the age of 52. Connie retired after many years working at the City of St. Paul's purchasing department. She made so many friends along her life journey in St. Paul, Afton, Maplewood and Woodbury, Minnesota and Sarasota, Florida. At the time of her death her grandson read to her Matthew 7:12-14 while holding her hand. Her last words of advice to us all were "Be kind to one another". Memorial Service at 4 PM on Sunday, Sept 18 at ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 1401 Arcade St (Hwy 61), St. Paul, with visitation two hours prior to the service. Private interment Union Cemetery.
