Loren R. Holmstrom
Age 84 of Saint Paul, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 30th, 2018 after a 3-day sleep and family vigil. He was preceded in death by his parents, Randy and Millie Holmstrom. Loren is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara; sons, Mark and Jason; sister, Ardelle (Terry) Raycraft; sister-in-law, Mary Christopherson; nephews, nieces and families: Kevin (Kathy) Raycraft; Tim (Sue) Raycraft; Eric (Kris) Chase, Payton, Dylan Christopherson; Mary (Dave) Nelson; Kathleen (Michael) Aaron DeBaiso; Ann (Thomas) Elina and Nadia Walchuk; loving, supportive cousins, extended families, and friends. Loren was a ’51 graduate of Duluth Denfeld HS; a ’55 graduate of NDSU School of Pharmacy; U.S. Army medic; 60 years a pharmacist: co-owner, Carlson Pharmacies, St. Paul; manager, Snyder Bros. and Snyders Drug Stores; retired February 2018 from West Bank Pharmacy, Minneapolis. Golf, summers at the family cabin at Burntside Lake, fishing, and 45+ winters curling and teaching until February 2018 at the St. Paul Curling Club were some of Loren’s favorite leisure activities. He was a gifted musician (trumpet) in his early years.
Visitation from 4:00-8:00pm on Friday, April 13, 2018 and on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10:00am before the 11:00am Celebration of Life Service at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, 1669 Arcade Street (Hwy 61), Saint Paul, Minnesota. Memorials preferred to G.A. Church (Tractor Mower Fund - Loren and the machine wore out last season), or the SPCC Foundation.
