Catherine Mary Turbes, 69, daughter of Sylvester G. and Janet (Murphy) Turbes died at our Lady of Peace Hospice in St. Paul on 4-20-2025, Easter Sunday morning around 1 am. Survived by sisters Elizabeth (Carleton) McCambridge, Teresa Turbes, brother Thomas (Gillian) Turbes, two nieces, a nephew, and great nieces and nephews.

Born with multiple, profound intellectual and physical disabilities, Cathy was a resident of Cambridge State School and Hospital for 25 years and then Furness House for 35+ years where she lived with her sisters Teresa and Regina who were also born with multiple, profound intellectual and physical disabilities.

Cathy loved music and we had weekly hootenannies with her and our two sisters; Regina (until her death on 12/22/2022) and Teresa, who continues to live at Furness House. Cathy loved to play Patty Cake.

We are grateful for the excellent care she received at Furness, a Phoenix Residence, and from the staff at Our Lady of Peace Hospice who provided her with comfort and tranquility in her last hours. We will have a private family graveside service at Resurrection Cemetery in the autumn.
