Obituary of Richard A Johnson

Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Born February 19,1946 and led by his strong Faith and undeniable independence, Richard was reunited with his family in Heaven on April 26. 2025. Richard was a lifelong resident of Saint Paul, MN, and a graduate of Mechanic Arts High School. As a youngster his fondest memories were his summers at Camp Courage, his time at the lake cabin in Lindstrom with his family, and any family gatherings when his cousins were there. Richard's love for the Minnesota Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves and Wild, trips to the casino and watching old movies, filled most of his free time. Anytime he could be at a game or at a casino in person, was a bonus. He worked for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and retired from there, with just over 44 years of service. Most recently he was a resident of New Perspectives Senior Living in Roseville where he had made a new family of friends and caregivers. The family thanks you all. Richard is preceded in death by Father William, Mother Marguerite(Tempel), brother Robert, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He is survived by numerous Tempel and Johnson cousins, their spouses and families, and many years of friendship with Linda and Paul Schneider, Jean and Roger (dec) Schwartz, Rick Nordby, John Nordby, and Jennifer and Stuart Heitkamp. Visitation 10 AM followed by 11 AM funeral on Monday, May 5, 2025 at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, 1669 Arcade Street (Hwy 61), Saint Paul. Luncheon immediately following the services. Interment Sunset Memorial Park.
