Anna “Fern” (Olson) Trierweiler, 108, of Maplewood, MN, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2025, after living a long and fulfilling life. Born on April 20, 1917, in Cuba City, WI, she was the daughter of Frank and Lillian M. (Shortell) Olson.
Fern was married to Eloy Leander Trierweiler for 55 years before his passing in 1989. She grew up on the family farm in Stanley, WI, alongside her three late siblings: Glenn Olson, Dale Olson, and Marjorie (Olson) Seefeldt. Fern’s lifelong passion for flowers and gardening led her to a 50-year career in the greenhouse industry, eventually retiring at the age of 77 from St. Paul florist Holm & Olson.
In addition to her beloved husband, Fern was preceded in death by her children: June Marie Trierweiler, Robert “Bob” Eugene Trier, and grandsons David Edward Trier and Mitchell Dean Trier.
Fern is survived by her son Richard Eloy (Marilyn) Trierweiler; daughter-in-law Donna Rae Trier; grandchildren Lisa Weyrauch (Rick), Richard G. Trierweiler (Lisa Ripley), Stephen Trier (Lisa Shortridge), Michael Trierweiler (Lori Volp), Joseph Trier (Lisa), and Katherine Walker (Michael); as well as fourteen great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren.
A private family reunion will be held later this summer to lay Fern to rest beside her beloved husband at Union Cemetery, Maplewood, MN. Written condolences may be sent to the Family of Fern Trierweiler at Ecumen Seasons at Maplewood, 1670 Legacy Parkway E, Maplewood, MN 55109. The family kindly requests that no memorials be sent.
