JoAnne Carol (Schwendinger) Lee


JoAnne is the oldest of three children born to Richard and Mildred (Johnson) Schwendinger. Jo was born July 4, 1944 in St. Paul, Minnesota and passed away on June 23, 2025 in Eagan, Minnesota.


Jo loved to play guitar from an early age and many hot summer evenings as a teen she could be found on the front porch with family, friends and neighbors playing guitar and singing. She taught guitar for many years to hundreds of people. She also played in several bands over the years in St. Paul, Duluth and St. George, Utah.


Jo is survived by two sons, David Stanke of West St. Paul and Scott Morrissey of Farmington, Minnesota. She has two brothers, Alan (Diana) Schwendinger of Ames, Iowa and Jim (Lenore) Schwendinger of St. George, Utah. Her extended family consists of two nieces, three nephews and several cousins. She was preceded in death by Dean Stanke, Robert Morrissey, her parents, nephew Dan Schwendinger and sisters-in-law Christine Schwendinger and Joan Schwendinger.


Jo was cremated per her wishes and a memorial service will be held at a later date with her ashes to be scattered at Snow Canyon, Utah.
