Laura Anne Ottinger Obituary

Laura Anne Ottinger (Jindra) , a loving mother and grandmother, 64, of Saint Paul, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on January 13th, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Laura Anne Ottinger (Jindra) was born July 7, 1961, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to loving parents Edward and Juanita Jindra. She grew up in Saint Paul, MN with her three siblings, Steven, Debra, and Shelley, and they all attended Washington High School. Growing up, she especially loved spending her childhood summers at the family cabin on forty acres in Onamia, Minnesota, a place she often talked about with great joy.

She went on to marry David Ottinger in 1980, and they welcomed two daughters together, Terria in 1981 and Tammy in 1984. They divorced in 1985. In the years to come, she met Steven Goepfert, and they went on to have two children, Travis in 1988 and Tiffany in 1994.

Laura was a woman of deep faith who loved serving the Lord. After having four children she became a lunch lady at Mississippi Creative Arts Magnet School in Saint Paul, where her own children attended. Whether she was serving in the lunch line or welcoming neighborhood kids into her home, she always put her family and the children around her first, quietly showing God’s love in the way she cared for others.

Laura was a woman of God who praised the Lord every chance she got. She loved spending time up north at her son Travis and his wife Ashley’s home in Grantsburg, Wisconsin, and often talked about living there someday. In her later years she lived for her four grandchildren: Trista, Mikaella, Travis, and Teagan, whom she absolutely adored. She cherished her faith in Jesus Christ and showed her love for God through the way she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Her strong faith touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply loved and dearly missed.

Preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Juanita Jindra. She is survived by her siblings Steven Jindra, Debra Ottinger, and Shelley Joyner; her children Terria Meyer (Ottinger), Tammy Ottinger, Travis & Ashley Goepfert, and Tiffany Goepfert; and her grandchildren Trista Goepfert, Mikaella Mealey, Travis Goepfert, Teagan Goepfert.

A funeral service will be held at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, 1669 Arcade Street, St. Paul, MN 55106, on Thursday, January 22nd at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow the service. She will be deeply loved and forever missed.
