Of Merrick Foods. Age 92, of St. Paul. Marvin was called home to the Lord on March 12, 2013 with family by his side. He was born and educated in St. Paul. He began working at Korman's as a butcher, then became owner of Merrick's Foods on Payne Avenue. Later he became part owner of Market Foods in Winona, Minnesota and served on the boards of Fairway Foods, First State Bank, MN Food Retailers, Lyngblomsten Care Center and the GA Church Council. He also proudly served in the Navy during WWII. Beloved husband of Vernelle; father of John (Pamela) and David; grandfather of Courtney (Corey), Emily and Matthew; great-grandfather of Kylie. Marvin loved the Lord, his family and his country, going to the cabin, skiing and the great outdoors. Memorials preferred to Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church or the Salvation Army.
