Shirley Olseen Obituary

Beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother. Age 89, of White Bear Lake. Died peacefully on March 27th, 2013 surrounded by family. She loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, the outdoors, and time at the cabin. She was a social work professor at Bethel College and saw herself as "not a teacher but an awakener." Her generous spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.




Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Agnes and Richard Wingquist, her brother, Milton Wingquist (wife Dorothy), and her daughter, Cindy Johnson. Survived by her husband, Axel Olseen; children, Richard (wife Bambi) Olseen and Barbara Olseen; son-in-law, Bob Johnson; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Since 2010, Shirley and Axel have resided at Gracepointe Crossing in Cambridge, MN. The family extends their gratitude to the loving nursing home and hospice staff who cared for Shirley.
