Obituary of Margaret Olivia Stauffer (Kron)

Margaret Olivia Stauffer (Kron) passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the age of 94.

She was born at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Paul, MN on June 14, 1924. Margaret grew up in West St. Paul and on Madeline Island, WI. She graduated from Humboldt High School and worked at the St. Paul Athletic Club. After graduation she attended St. Paul School of Associated Arts. 

Margaret married Russell Gordon Stauffer on August 10, 1946. They lived in Encino, CA, Tarzana, CA and St. Paul, MN before moving to their lake home on Goose Lake outside of Harris, MN in 1991. 

Margaret retired after 32 years at 1st State Bank (USBank) in 1982. In her retirement she was an artist, seamstress, needleworker and refinished furniture. She was active on the Arlington Hills Lutheran Church Council, Payne Avenue Harvest Festival, in Eastern Star and Oriettes. She loved to travel and spend time with her granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Algot Edward Kron & Margaret Evelyn (née Malauf); husband, Russell Gordon Stauffer (2013); brother, Edward Algot Kron (Thora) of Poynor, MO. Survived by daughter, Jan Lynnette Stauffer (Jerome J. Hoffmann) of Woodbury; granddaughter, Olivia Carolynn Hoffmann of Brooklyn, NY; sister-in-law, Elaine C. Roberts; great-niece, Tamara McAdams; and great-great nephew, Trey McAdams of Seattle, WA.

Visitation at 9:30AM, with Memorial Service at 11AM on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Arlington Hills Lutheran Church,1115 Greenbrier St, St. Paul. Luncheon to follow.
