Obituary of Sandra Mae Nelson

Sandra Mae Nelson, a loving and talented woman, passed away on September 21, 2023, in Roseville, MN. Born in Minneapolis on August 6, 1947, she was 1 of 9 siblings, born to parents Ruby (Midtling) and Floyd Hanson. She was known for her artistic talents, especially singing, accordion playing, painting, writing and furniture moving . She is survived by her children Natalie, Abel, Luther Nelson, and step-daughter Ashleigh Moss. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Ruby Rose, 22, Indy Joy, 6, Lily Mae, 2, and Scarlet Moss, 21. Sandra adored her granddaughters above all. Sandra made everyone feel at home, always ready with a meal and a cup of coffee for visitors. She loved having people around and was a natural storyteller, sharing stories about important people in her life. Her love for her family was matched by her deep faith in Christ, a cornerstone that guided her throughout her life. Sandra will be deeply missed, but her loving and welcoming spirit will live on in those who knew her. Rest in peace. A funeral service will be held for Sandra at Anderson Funeral Home at 1401 Arcade Street, Saint Paul, MN 55106 on Thursday, September 28th at 5:00PM with a Visitation held prior from 4:00-5:00PM. A graveside burial will be held Friday, September 29th starting at 11:30AM at Union Cemetery at 2505 Minnehaha Ave E, Maplewood, MN 55119.
