Beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother, age 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 12, 2016, after a short illness. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband, Gene, and twin sister, Myra. She is survived by her loving daughter, Vickie (Gary) Sodahl; granddaughters, Stephanie (Tom) Schoenfelder and Angela (Gary Pegues) Schrock; 5 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was born July 2nd, 1920, in Glencoe, MN and often longed to return there. She retired at age 82 after many years as a nurse at Bethesda Medical Center. A kind and gentle person, Myrtle enjoyed spending time with friends and family. While residing at Meadowood Shores she was in charge of the Red Hat Society. Funeral Service at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 18th, 2016, at Christ the King Lutheran, 1900 7th St. NW, New Brighton, MN 55112. Visitation will be 1 hour prior. Private interment at Fort Snelling. A special thanks to the loving staff of St. Therese at Odilia Hospice Home, and HealthPartners Hospice. Memorials to your favorite charity preferred.
