Obituary of Donald Selander

Donald Selander, age 76, died suddenly on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 of a massive coronary. He was a retired 48-year employee of Ford Motor Company. Don was preceded in death by his parents; sister; and son, Steve. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Swanson Selander; children, Susan (Bryan) Hoeg and Estellise Emerald; grandson, Mason Hoeg; best friend, Ted Stack; and cat, Primrose Everdeen. Don called me “Toots” I called him “Bucko.” There was never a dull moment all the years we were together. His sense of humor was unmatched. We laughed so much during our 50 year relationship! Don loved The Packers. And animals. And his family. And his friends. He loved working at the Ford plant. He even went back after taking a retirement buyout and was there when the last truck rolled off the line. Don loved going to the North St. Paul car shows. He also loved riding his Harley, mostly through the relaxed farm country of Wisconsin. Please feel free to share Don stories - he will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Don's Life will be from 3:00 – 6:00PM on Thursday, July 8th, 2021 at Anderson Funeral Home, 1401 Arcade Street (Hwy 61), Saint Paul. Memorials preferred to donor's choice.
