Obituary of Valarie Lynn Lukkarila

Valarie Lynn Lukkarila (Marshall), age 60, lifelong Superior area resident, died on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at University of Minnesota Hospital surrounded by family. Val was born on April 5, 1961 to Donald & Virginia Marshall. She was an avid poker and cribbage player. Val loved being with her family and friends. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She had a passion for music, poetry and cooking. Val is survived by her loving partner, DuWayne Kasper; children, Grant (Gina), Amanda (Fritz), Brianna (Andrew), and Tiana (Thomas); sisters, Donna (Robbie) and Sandy; brothers, Alan, Skip, Larry and Carl; grandchildren, Brittany, Elizabeth, Wendy, Logan, Karli, Kenzie, Sadie, Axel, Adam and Hunter. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lorraine; the fathers of her three daughters, Mike Lukkarila, Wayne Nelson and Rusty Manson; and granddaughter, Arianna Lynn. Celebration of Life begins at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Brule Town Hall, 5814 South Maple Street, Brule, Wisconsin 54820, with Major Rosemary Mattson and Connie Maki officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Ridge Cemetery Brule, Wisconsin. The family would like to thank the University of Minnesota Fairview East Bank for the level of care, kindness, and compassion shown during this difficult time.
