Obituary of Nancy J. Perez

Nancy J. Perez Our angel on earth is now in heaven On January 18, 2022, God called Nancy Jane Perez, age 76, home to heaven. She was at peace and surrounded by her family in the final hours. Nancy Jane Rono was born on November 17, 1945, in Perry Lake Township in Crow Wing County, Minnesota to Oscar Rono and Hilda (Randall) Rono. She grew up in Crosby, Minnesota with her 11 brothers and sisters on the family farm. On October 31, 1964, she married Roberto Perez Sr. in Minneapolis. They lived a short time in Texas, and then raised their family of 6 in St. Paul for over 50 years. Nancy loved nature, including plants and gardening, and passed that love on to her children. She also loved hunting for agates and doing puzzles. She appreciated the little things, and saw the beauty in everyone and everything. She was like a second mom to many who knew her, and easy to talk to. Nancy had a beautiful smile and infectious laugh, which her friends and loved ones enjoyed seeing and sharing often. Nancy stayed at home to raise her children when they were younger. Once they were all in school, she worked full-time at Kmart in St. Paul for many years, and then also at Savers part-time. She had a great work ethic, which she passed on to her children. Preceded in death by parents Oscar Rono and Hilda (Randall) Rono, brothers Oscar Jr. Rono, Albert Rono, David Rono, Roger Rono, Larry Rono, Tony Rono, and sister Alice Simmons. Survived by her husband, Roberto Perez Sr., children Roberto Perez Jr. (Iris), Linda Honan (Gary), Paul Perez (Susan), Gloria Allie (Jim), Roel Perez (Christine Ott), and Daniel Perez (Paula Teiken), 13 grandchildren, 4 great-granddaughters, brothers Harold Rono, Lester Rono, and sisters Caroline (Danny) Warren, and Linda Saltzman.
