Obituary of Marion "Bud" Wilkerson

Marion Lee "Bud" Wilkerson, 89, passed away on February 13, 2022 in Maplewood, Minnesota. Bud was born April 26, 1932 to Marion & Lela Wilkerson when the family lived in Anacortes, Washington. The family moved to Bellingham, Washington in 1934, and he graduated from Bellingham High School in 1951. Bud worked in Alaska with his father during the summers through his high school years and then joined the Air Force. He spent time in Japan and was stationed in Minnesota when his service ended. He briefly returned to Washington and then moved to Minnesota where he raised his family and worked as a machinist for 3M Company. Bud loved to fish and spent many weekends fishing the lakes of Minnesota. After he retired, he spent several summer days fishing with good friends on Lake Superior near Port Wing, Wisconsin. Bud was the neighborhood mechanic for many neighbors & friends and he always had a lineup of cars, lawn mowers and snow blowers in his garage that needed tune-ups and repairs. He also liked to play cribbage and was a great challenge to the many friends & family who played games with him. Bud is survived by his wife, Carolyn of Maplewood, MN; sons, Robert (Andrea) Wilkerson of Blaine, MN and Jeffrey Wilkerson of Lindstrom, MN; daughter, Dayla (John) Montague of Anacortes, WA; sisters, Lorraine Gardner and Linda Priddy, both of Bellingham, WA; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces & nephews. Special Thanks to Jeff Ramsay for many years of friendship & help to Bud. Bud was a wonderful husband & father, and special friend to many. He was truly a wonderful, caring, and special man. Bud will be returning home to Bellingham, Washington where he was born and raised. A Gathering of Family will be held there at a later date. He will be truly missed by loving family & friends.
