Obituary of Evelyn "Lu" Warn

Passed away peacefully at home on April 13th, 2022. Lu grew up in the DeKalb, IL area; received her BS in Education from Northern Illinois University; taught Home Economics for two years, married in 1949; moved to St. Paul then Winona; settled in White Bear Lake for 29 years with her husband and three daughters; raised her family; then worked as a substitute teacher and eventually as a loan processor at the U.S.E. Federal Credit Union in St. Paul from 1970 through 1986. Lu and Clayt retired to “lake country” near Alexandria, MN, traveling in the winters in their 5th-wheel trailer for 12 seasons.
Upon the death of her husband in 1998, Lu moved to the Maplewood area where she purchased a townhouse and lived independently for 14 years, surrounded by family and enjoying her return to Arlington Hills Lutheran Church. She moved to The Shores of Lake Phalen Senior Living Facility in 2015 and still lived independently in her apartment there until 3 weeks before her passing.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 49 years, Clayt; her parents, Irving and Pearl; her brothers Art (Violet), Howard (Beth), Marvin (Irene), & George (Zella); her sisters Marian (Roland), Gert (Len), & Ruth (Red); her in-laws Ethel (Erni), Alyce (Leo), Bud (Mavis), & Dave.
She is survived by sister-in-law, Helen, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, & neighbors. She will be greatly missed by her daughters; Cheri (Jim) Steinmueller in Little Canada, MN, Ruth (Ted) Schwarzrock in Edina, MN & Dodi (John) Roesler in Flowery Branch, GA; her grandchildren: Matt (Angela) Steinmueller, Sara (Ben) Laine, Nick (Ali) Schwarzrock, Tim (Camille) Schwarzrock, Liz (John) Sims, Joe Roesler, & Mike (Ran Tao) Roesler; and her great grandchildren; Madeline, Morgan, & Maria Steinmueller – Mason & Archer Laine – Avery & Milton Schwarzrock – Rylan Roesler.
Visitation at Anderson Funeral Home, St. Paul on Friday, April 22nd from 5:00-8:00PM and at Roseville Lutheran Church (1215 Roselawn Ave., Roseville, MN) on Saturday, April 23rd with a viewing 11:30AM-12:30PM, 12:30PM funeral service followed by graveside burial and a luncheon. Memorials preferred to the charity of your choice.
