Obituary of Lorraine Elinor Nyberg

Nyberg, Lorraine (Schwanke) Age 98 - Beloved Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma Passed away on June 22, 2022. Lorraine was a gentle, caring soul. She loved family and family events. The more participants, the happier Lorraine was. Lorraine was generous with her time. She volunteered at Phalen Lake School Library where her grandchildren attended, was Grandma’s taxicab and sponsored many family trips. Born in Dent, Minnesota, Lorraine grew up a farmer’s daughter before heading to St. Paul to find a career. She met her future husband, Robert Nyberg, started a family and worked at Vomela Specialty Company before the working mother was common. Preceded in death by parents, Lena and Emil Schwanke; husband, Robert Nyberg Jr.; sister, Delores Welin; brothers, Merrill, Alvin, Emil and Donny Schwanke. Lorraine is survived by daughters, Linda and Cindy (Mark) Schreiber; grandchildren, Autumn (Nathan) Hubbell, Jacob Schreiber (Abby Spott); great grandchildren, Wilder & Micah Hubbell; sister Betty (Harold) Miller; sister in-law, Gloria Nyberg; brother in-law, Charles Nyberg and many nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks for support to Kaye (Dennis) Warning and Shores of Lake Phalen Special Angel Denise. A celebration of life will be held at Anderson Funeral Home, 1401 North Arcade St. (Hwy 61), St Paul, Tuesday, June 28th Visitation 1:00-2:00 pm; Service to follow with grave side interment after. Memorials to Arlington Hills Lutheran Church. Masks recommended.
