Mrs. Mary Alice Cross was born on May 24, 1932 to the Union of Sirlene Louise Wilson-Washington and Steve Kirby in Waverly, Little Rock, Arkansas. She received her formal education at Waverly, Little Rock, Arkansas Public Schools in 1950 and continued her education as a Registered Nurse. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Curtis C. Cross, on August 6, 1975 in Chicago, Illinois and resided in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was a very outgoing, well-known and respected. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. She was a strong woman with a lot of wisdom and had strong beliefs in Christ. She will be sadly and dearly missed by all.
Mary Alice Cross departed this life on July 19, 2013 at home. She is preceded in death by her mother Sirlene Louise Wilson-Washington, her father Steve Kirby, Auntie Olivia Hamilton, husband Curtis C. Cross, and her son Oral Moss Jr. She leaves to cherish the memory of two daughters: Betty Moss, Levon Lee, 11 grandchildren Ernest Lee (Theresa) James Bivens of St. Paul, Minnesota, Toye Hebert of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Earnestine Moss, Alice Wynn, Dr. Bridgett Moss-Baker (Dr. John), Felicia Lee, Bryne Moss-Turner (Jamel), Stephanie Moss, Lexus Moss, and Myles Moss all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She reared a special great-granddaughter Seva Lee of St. Paul, Minnesota. Mary had a close and dear friend for over two decades, Mary Hobbs. Mary Alice Cross is a great-grandmother of 29. A great-great-grandmother of 14. She is considered a mother and grandmother to a host of many others.
