Age 79, took his last breath on February 17, 2023. His death certificate will no doubt read ‘heart failure’; yet anyone who knew Bill knew his heart to be the furthest thing from failure. With 57 years of service to the Saint Paul Schools and the University of Saint Thomas, there was rarely a place he could go without someone shouting, ‘Mr. Lynch!’ and then chatting about their lives and the impact Bill had on them. Bill had a smile, a high-five or a hug for everyone. He led with grace and humility. He parented with playfulness and patience. He loved with openness and tenderness.

Bill is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kristen, his daughters Kerri (Jody) Lynch, Kathleen (Dan) Glusick and Erin (David) Lynch and his sons Kevin (Michelle) Lynch and Joe (Chyanne) Lynch. Grandchildren Madison, Will and Emily Glusick and siblings Nancy (Ned) Ryan, Maureen (Mike) Gucciard, Tish Lynch, Tom (Annette) Lynch, Anne (Mike) Lynch, and Jim Lynch all miss Bill deeply.

Bill is also survived by the legacy of kindness and generosity he shared with all who met him.

Memorial Service 4:30PM Tuesday, Feb 28, at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church, 1669 Arcade Street (Hwy 61), St. Paul. Visitation Monday, Feb 27, 4-8PM at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church and 1 hour prior to the service.

Gifts can be made in Bill’s honor to Kristen Lynch for either the Class of 1965 Scholarship Fund at St. Thomas or a student scholarship fund at Saint Paul Johnson High School.
