Love you my brother.. I can't imagine how I am going to function without you. You my sanity that had been my calming voice, my strength. You a man that filled each moment with joy and so much love.
I know this cycle of what will be a continuous rollercoaster of emotions. Just as I open my eyes this morning, the shock and disbelief, the pain the numbness , the looking around for your brightness and the sorrow melting into every part of me.
Then I think of you, how you would be the voice of my sanity, held me during my hardest days, holy fuck did we face some really hard shit together. Such a strong man, you did what no other could for so many. Oh the laughter, fills me and the love.
You the kindness that I'm not sure how I will be able to find,.
I have never screamed with such anger to why, why this world and life has been so very hard. I try to bring focus, just to function and I see you in your raw beautiful self to regain from my selfish grief that this world has lost so much. That so many have lost you since you brought so much to so many lives. You brought such wealth in the most beautiful of people in our lives.
I can't place into words, how the skies opened up after hearing of my baby brother taken and the thunder and lighting and darkness. Falling to my knees knowing how much life you had left and the so much beautiful things ahead has been stolen, from so many that love you. I then attempt to regain strength as your big sister crawling off the floor empty to having to push forward to helping those who haven't been in this place I have been for a while. Even if its just to hold them for you. I can't fill the voids but I will try my hardest to be here to share you because you left us the most treasured memories.
I see the smiles you had filled around you, the most beautiful people you had surrounded you who haven't stopped giving to helping and I know as the sky reopens from the darkness that your spirit brought all of the most beautiful reflections and I sit viewing what you built.
A sky of different colors filled with many rays of light.
I love you....I will see you in each smile as others tell me treasured memories as you have left so many

My memories of Rob consist of small moments, which on the surface may seem meaningless, but they defined our friendship. Small moments of laughter, smiles, heart-felt conversations, inside jokes, shared frustrations, empathy, and understanding.
Rob and I met while working together at New Belgium Brewing Company. I moved to Minnesota to work in sales where he was also located. With only a handful of employees scattered about the state, it was often a lonely endeavor. But when I met Rob for the first time, I could feel his enthusiasm and desire to make my transition as smooth as possible. He was in a similar role in another part of the area. He showed me the ropes, introduced me to his friends, and offered much-needed support as I got my feet under me.
As time went on, we ended up working together more often: long road trips to remote areas of Wisconsin and Minnesota, meetings, events, festivals, beer dinners, etc. I learned to tolerate (if not appreciate) his love of metal and interest in aliens, conspiracies, and anything unusual. He tolerated my bluegrass music, football talk, and whatever else I wished to discuss. That was one of the great things about Rob: he just wanted you to be you and didn’t carry an ounce of judgment, but rather the opposite.
We bonded over many minor topics, but we also bonded over conversations about family, work, love, the future, and everything in between. Truthfully, I struggled with life and work in Minnesota. I struggled to succeed and had difficulty making friends, but Rob was always there for me. He understood my frustrations and perspectives because he had experienced some of the same difficulties.
What always impressed me was the way he handled it all. He had an amazing ability to fully process and understand negative emotions, but somehow he could make them feel minuscule compared to what mattered most: the love of life. He grinned in the face of the storm. He chuckled at the ridiculousness of stress and anxiety. He ended every conversation with a smile.
I’m not sure what my life would have been like during my time in Minnesota without his friendship. He was a constant source of empathy, support, and fun. More importantly, he demonstrated how to love life even when it’s tough. That’s something that he gave me that no one can take away. So even though he’s gone, his spirit carries on.
Thank you, Rob.
Your friend, Keith.
