Obituary of Richard F. McMahon

Passed away peacefully on Thursday June 8th at the age of 92. He grew up in Huron, SD and graduated from South Dakota State University before eventually moving to St. Paul where he met his wife, Elizabeth (Primoli) McMahon. They were married for over 63 years, living much of that time in St. Paul where they raised 4 children. He was the family patriarch that also included 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Richard enjoyed a long and successful career with Sperry Univac, retiring in 1990. Over his retirement years, he and Elizabeth had the chance to visit Italy. He was an avid reader, he loved driving his “pride and joy” 1991 Chrysler New Yorker and he was also strong in his Catholic faith. Throughout his life he served as an outstanding example to his family and friends. Richard was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey and is survived by his children David McMahon, Thomas McMahon and Jodi (Doug) MacCallum; Grandchildren Sean (Maggie) McMahon, Elise McMahon, Noelle McMahon, Collette McMahon, Rachel Evanson and Jenna (Matt) Yanchek; plus great-grandchildren Maria and Edith McMahon. Visitation will be on Friday, June 16th from 5:00-8:00 pm at Anderson Funeral Home, 1401 Arcade St. in St. Paul. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 17th at St. Pius X Catholic Church in White Bear Lake, with lunch to follow. Memorials are preferred to St. Pius X Catholic Church
