Obituary of Patricia "Dolly" Amlee

Passed away July 3 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Dolly had a strong Christian faith. She met the love of her life, Neil, in high school and they were married in 1956. They travelled around the world together, taking trips to Europe, Australia, Norway and Sweden. They enjoyed their long-lasting friendships, some going back to high school. After retiring, they spent their winters in Fort Meade, FL playing golf and participating in social events. Summers were always devoted to the cabin they built together when they were first married, they loved to have family and friends come to relax in their special place. Dolly started her working career for the Railroad, taking time off to raise her children. She started her real estate company, Amlee Realty and sold real estate throughout her life. She also worked for Levander Law Firm, Metropolitan State University (as Facilities Director and Taught Real Estate) and State of MN – Department of Administration for facility leasing. Dolly loved to be with family and friends, she was a social butterfly. Her family was her pride and joy. She was an active part of everyone’s lives and as her grandchildren arrived, she traveled to soccer, hockey, lacrosse, dance, baseball, basketball, and any other activities that were going on. She loved taking her grandchildren on “special days” to spend more time with them and make special memories. As the grandchildren grew up, she took great enjoyment as great grandchildren arrived. She always marveled that this wonderful family started with her and Neil. Preceded in death by husband, Neil. Survived by daughter, Kathy Scherer (Michael Gombold) Children of Kathy Jason Scherer (Sara) & their children Harper, Elin & Rowan. Blake Scherer (Sara) & their children Luke & Ella. Jeffrey Scherer Christopher Scherer (Jenessa) & their children Alex, Luna, Miles and soon to be baby girl. Kristen Scherer (Nate) Survived by son, Steve (Mary) Amlee: Children of Steve/Mary Brady Blackorbay (Sarah) & their son Jack. Kevin Amlee (Jessica) & their children Logan, Rebel, Owen, Easton, Connor & Isla. Kyle Amlee (Kaylee) & their children Lucy, Sean. Becky Blackorbay. Karina Peck (Addison) & their children Maci & Levi.
