Rolf Allen Vinnes, age 79, died early Thanksgiving Day morning.
Rolf was a graduate of St. Paul Johnson High in 1962 as a class officer and elite athlete. He continued to pursue his talent in ice hockey and tennis well into his adult years as an amateur. He took his turn to serve in the military as a US Army reservist, graduated from a four year college program, and enjoyed a lifelong hobby of travel which included visits to over 30 countries. He was gifted in the appreciation of art and interior design. He was social in nature and an ardent participant in a Bridge club among neighbors that met for many years. Rolf lived life on his terms, as his own person, having confronted a number of major life challenges. The world is a better place because of people of the likes of Rolf.
He is survived by brothers Norman and Harold, sister Joanne, and ten nieces and nephews.
An informal meet and share memorial is scheduled for Dec 9, 1 PM at Anderson Funeral Home on 1401 Arcade Street in St. Paul.
