Obituary of Linda Susan Lindblom

Please share a memory of Linda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Linda Susan Lindblom was born August 1, 1947 in Kandiyohi, Minnesota. She was adopted at age 6 months by Paul E and Ruth Ackerson Matsche. Even as a child, she loved her cats, bringing many home from a nearby farm. She attended Little Canada School, Capitol View Jr. High and graduated from Alexander Ramsey High in1965 where she was a member of the National Honor Society. During her senior year, she was voted Valentine Queen at Ramsey. She was very talented at sewing and went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota with a degree in home economics. Upon graduation, Linda joined Montgomery Wards as a decorator where she met the love of her life, Craig Alan Lindblom. They were married August 16, 1974. They left Minnesota for jobs with Wards in NYC. Returning to Minnesota in 1975, they eventually settled in Mahtomedi, Minnesota. Over the years, their home always included cats, St. Bernards and small dogs, including most recently, G.G. (Gorgeous Georgina). Following Craig’s passing in 1984 she continued with her love of Bernards with Patience. In her later years, she took in a friend’s dog when he died and then adopted two small dogs. She was promoted to department manager at Wards and continued until health problems forced her retirement in 1995. She eventually went to work at John Bartl’s Hardware as a cashier. Everyone who came into the store quickly got to know Linda. Great at making friends, everyone seemed to know Linda. She couldn’t go to the grocery store without greeting and hugging the staff. It was the same everywhere. When Covid make it impossible to hug people, she started giving out candy Hugs and always kept dog treats in her purse in case she ran into a pup. Her decorating skills showed in her home . She also loved gardening and her favorite flower was Impatiens. She is survived by sister Karen Kelley, brothers Daniel (Shirley) and Tom (Diane) Matsche, brother-in-law Gerald (Judy) Lindblom, sister-in-law Nancy (Larry) LeTourneau, nieces and nephews Christine Kelley, Derek ( Christa), Scottt, Tim (Heather) and Jessica Matsche, several grand nieces and nephews and her cat, Kitty Kat. She was preceded in death by her husband Craig Lindblom, parents, Paul and Ruth Matsche, and mother-and father-in law, Dorolese (Dode) and Vernon Lindblom, step father-in-law Dr. Arthur Johnson and brother-in-law Robert Lindblom.
