Jenny and I remember everyone like it was yesterday! Karen and Carl were the “can do” people! When we first arrived in HK in 1987, we needed lots of reassurance and help in order to adjust to living in such an incredibly complex metropolis. At the old Kai-Tak airport, Karen’s smiling face greeted us, along with the entire seasoned CBFMS gang, whom we still love and admire so much. Karen’s calm, steady demeanor helped us tremendously. She seemed to NEVER get rattled when faced with any dilemma or difficulty. This was so reassuring to us as we lived and served there. We also loved her hospitable spirit as we all gathered regularly at the Beach home for holidays; she made everyone feel like it was their home too! One more thing: some missionaries never find their footing after retiring from the field. NOT Karen! She continued devoting herself to reaching Chinese for Christ, she just shifted to university students. Ministry was her calling, and she never wavered from it. May the Lord comfort her adult kids, whom we miss, have fond memories of and who carry her spirit of steady service and wisdom within them all. Love, Johnny Jones
