Obituary of Mary Ann Johnson

Mary Ann Johnson, 82, died unexpectedly on December 24th, 2024 in her home. Mary Ann was born to Raymond and Evelyn Ingram on August 15th, 1942 in St. Paul, MN. She was an avid writer, belonging to a creative writing group for many years and working on her own autobiography. She enjoyed theater, playing the harmonica, traveling with her husband Gene, and being involved in her church at North Heights. Mary Ann went back to college at the age of 63 and obtained her BA in communications. She spent most of her career working in public communications, retiring from Metropolitan State University. Mary Ann is survived by her children Daniel Day and Monica (Rich) Dille, grandchildren; Joanna (Johnny), Franklin (Alisha), Dennis, Justin (Lori), Samantha, Charlie, Ben (Destiny), Kevin and Andrea, 11 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Gary Ingram, son Franklin Day, second husband Gene Johnson, and first husband Franklin Day. Mary Ann will be remembered by all her family and friends as the most giving and loving woman who was full of spunk. She will be deeply missed and forever loved. Services will be held on Friday January 3rd from 2-6pm at Anderson Funeral Home in St. Paul. Interment to follow in late spring.
