Obituary of William Kohlman Witt

Please share a memory of William to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
In loving memory of William Kohlman Witt, who peacefully transitioned from this temporary home to his eternal dwelling place in Paradise with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 23, 2024. Affectionately known as Bill, he leaves behind a legacy of love, faith and family. They surrounded him as he passed and joined him to his final resting place at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, for a private, but beautiful send off to honor him on October 25, 2024. Bill is survived by his devoted spouse of 52 years, Beverly (Millette) Witt, and their six children: Cindy Hilley, Doug (Danielle) Witt, David (Pam) Witt, Cherie Farinacci, Julie (Pat) Carey and Lisa (Jerry) Rugg. His presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished by his 15 grandchildren, David, Witt, Chandler, Beth, Angela, Billy, MacKenzie, Adam, Natali, Nick, Gina, Tony, Brian, Brandon and Juliette, along with their mates. Bill was also blessed with 20 great-grandchildren, the most recent he was honored to pray with just days before his passing. His sister Mary Jane (Tom) Young survives him, along with many nieces and nephews and extended family, friends and caring individuals who touched his life. Bill was a funny guy. He adored his family and lived next door to his kids and grandkids for over 50 years. His front door was always open and kids, grandkids and great grandkids regularly ran through it. He could fix almost anything that broke. Usually there was a “Billy-rig” done in classic “scientific” fashion. He was passionate about all sports. His favorites were tennis, the Vikings, Minnesota Twins, and of course watching his grandkids play hockey was always a huge hit! Hunting and fishing were another joy of his, especially when it was with his son Doug. There was a right way and a wrong way to do things according to Bill. Never serve hot food on a cold plate! The dishwasher needs to be stacked a specific way and the freezer….don’t even get him started! Squirrels are NOT allowed on the bird feeders, even if we have to electrocute them to get them to stay away!! He always knew the correct way to do something, and any other way was not good enough! Bill’s greatest desire was for his family and everyone he encountered to know Jesus and share in the promise of eternity. His life was a testament to this commitment, lived each day with love, compassion and the unwavering belief in the eternal joy that awaited him and all who know Jesus. His kids, grandkids and great grandkids were prayed for daily by name. His final wish was to share a message with those he loved and truly anyone who was willing to listen after his death. He had prepared a special message that we would like to share with you at this time. It is truly an honor and a privilege to fulfill Bill’s final wishes in this way. Thank you for joining us in this Celebration of Life for a Great Man! We will love and miss you…..Until we meet again! Your Dear Family A Note: The first song that will begin this short video was requested by Bill. It is the song that he said changed his life forever, when he became Born Again.
