I had the distinct pleasure of taking Russian language classes from Svetlana. My 1 hour lessons would often turn into 2-3 hour sessions as we discussed her early life fleeing Ukraine (she discussed hiding/sleeping underneath vehicles during their journey), the current politics in Russia and Ukraine (mostly Putin), previous students she taught at 3M and in her home, family, my travels to Russia, etc. And of course she would feed me during these sessions...everything was excellent, but I will miss her borscht and beet salad the most. очень грустно.
