Beloved Husband, Father, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa. Age 87, of Maplewood. Passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2013. He was born in St. Paul, MN on June 8, 1926 to Henry & Violet Hobbs. Survived by wife of 61 years Marilyn; children Karen (David) Johnson, Debra (Randy) Clark, Martha (Leonard) Rice and Jim (LeAnne) Hobbs; grandchildren Tony (Abby), Ted (Amy), Tyler (Leslie), Brian (Michelle), Emily (Nick), Jacob, Nathan, Zach, Rachel, and Justin; great-granddaughters Carys, MIrabel and Freyja. Preceded in death by parents and brother Jerome. Graduate of Johnson High School and the University of Minnesota. Earl had a 40-year career with Ramsey County Human Services. He was the founder of Arlington House, a home for teenage boys and girls and longtime board member of Vision Loss Resources. He was a lifelong member of Arlington Hills UMC and Boy Scout Troop 187. Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Lyngblomsten. Memorials preferred to Arlington Hills United Methodist Church or Vision Loss Resources.
