Preceded in death by parents, Merlin and Violet Ditschler; sister Marilyn and daughter Meryl. Survived by loving wife of 46 years, Margaret Ditschler; his 8 children: Sean O'Brien, Katherine Shoecraft, Margaret O'Brien, Randy (Patty) Ditschler, Jeff (Josje) Ditschler, Bridget (Phil) Enke, Barbara (Desi) Biechman, and Becky Reehl. Also survived by 22 grandchildren and 14 great-granchildren. Longtime member and Past Master of Capitol City Masonic Lodge. Graduated from North High School, Minneapolis in 1952; member of Amalgamated Transit Local 1005; retired MTC driver. Joe was a kind, gentle man who made us laugh and could find the positive in any situation. He was well loved by all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
