Passed away peacefully on March 21, 2014. Preceded in death by parents, Emery & Erma Nelson; sister, Donna Lou Sanborn & Douglas Nelson. He is survived by loving wife, Joanne; daughter Claire (Chuck) Tarr of Bloomington, MN; son, Robert Nelson of Richfield MN; brother Roger of Palm Desert, CA; sister-in-law Loree Munson of Charlottesville, VA; many nieces, nephews & friends. He was born on Sept 12, 1924 in Grand Forks, N.D. He served in the army during WWII and later attended the U of MN. For over 30 years he worked in the Postal Data Center as an accountant adjustor. Many thanks to the compassionate aides at The Shores of Lake Phalen & to the Fairview Hospice workers. Funeral Service 11am Tuesday at GUSTAVUS ADOLPHUS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1669 N. Arcade St (Hwy 61) St. Paul with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Luncheon to follow. Interment Forest Lawn. Memorials to Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church or the Salvation Army.
