James Michael Lifgren (AKA Whitey) was born on January 25, 1946. Surrounded by his loved ones Jim passed away at the age of 68 on June 29, 2014 at United Hospital. His passions were sports, building things with his hands, and cooking. He was an AMAZING father who took time to teach his children values, morals, and of course athletics. We will all miss Whitey so much for his compassion for others, selflessness and most importantly his sarcastic comments.

Jim is survived by his son Michael Steven Lifgren, of Shafer, MN, daughter Ashley Marie Lifgren of Kapaa, Hawaii and their mother Mary Bailey. Survived by his brother Charles (Linda), sisters Nancy, Jean, Mary Ann and many other family members, friends, and a loving community. Proceeded in death by his father Roy, mother Astrid, brother Robert, and sister Virginia. A Memorial service and Luncheon will be held at Chisago City Community Center on Saturday July 12 from 12 (noon) - 4 pm. Please bring your smile (tears are ok too) and a memory to share about Whitey if you wish.
