Luther Minner Obituary

Luther Minner was born in New Madrid, Missouri on September 18, 1940. He was the middle child of thirteen children born to Albert and Norma Burns Minner. After graduation from O'Bannon High School, Luther moved to Chicago to continue his education. Later he opened a downtown hair salon, La Feminique, where he met Diane, who would become his wife.

After closing La Feminigue, they pursued another entrepreneurial adventure becoming the owners of Spices a downtown jazz bar. Spices offered comedy, poetry, and gospel nights in addition to live theater, art exhibits and fundraisers for multiple organizations. Feeling the need to move on, Luther and Diane left for Missouri. Seven years later they moved to St. Paul, Minnesota.

Luther worked for the department of Parks and Recreation for twelve years retiring in 2012. He leaves behind his wife Diane, two sisters; Enarvel, Barbara, one brother Milton, two brother-in-laws; Dale and James, a host of nieces and nephews, other family members, and many friends.
