Obituary of Catherine Okerlund

Born Feb. 11, 1914 in Lettelier, Manitoba, Canada. She received her R.N. degree from Winnipeg General Hospital in 1935. Passed away Sept. 3, 2014. She worked for many years as an R.N. at Gillette Children's Hospital and then at Harmony Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathaniel Okerlund. She is survived by daughters, Jean Soderberg (Rich) of Lincolnshire, IL, Mary Bergman (Dave) of Park Rapids, MN, Karen Gibson (Bob) of Maplewood and son, Paul Okerlund (Vic) of Seattle, WA. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held Sept. 20 at 10:30 AM at First Evangelical Free Church, 2696 Hazelwood St, Maplewood, 55109. Visitation one hour before service. Many thanks to the staff of New Harmony Care Center for the wonderful care and support given to Kay during her 5-year stay. Memorials preferred.
