Obituary of Charles George Larsen

Age 92 of White Bear Lake Passed away on August 7, 2015 Charles George Larsen was born on February 12, 1923 in Woodstock, Illinois. He is predeceased by his parents, Christ and Lillian (Olson) Larsen; his brothers, Reuben and Leonard; and his wife, Eunice. Survived by wife, Roxanne Wieken Larsen; sons, David (Marj) and Donald (Gail); daughter, Charlene Imgrund, and step-son, Ken Wieken. Also survived by grandchildren, Samantha and Charles Imgrund, Chris (Heather) Larsen, Jenny, and Kevin and Keith Wieken; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Ryan, and Jasmine Wieken; brother, Harold Larsen and many nieces, nephews and friends. Chuck served in the Civilian Conservation Corps, and enlisted at the start of WWII. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945, as a member of the 8th Air Corps, 445th Bomb Group, 703rd Bomb Squadron. He was stationed at an airfield in Tibenan, England as an armorer on a B-24. After his discharge, Chuck married Eunice Berg in June, 1945. Back in Saint Paul, Chuck worked for the Army Ordinance Arsenal Plant until 1958. When the Arsenal closed down, Chuck went to work for the St. Paul Post Office until his retirement in 1982. Chuck and Eunice were married for 42 years until her death in January of 1987. He provided loving care to her during her final illness. In December of 1988, Chuck married Roxanne Wieken, and in 1989 they moved to White Bear Lake. Chuck was very involved at his church as an usher, greeter, and head of the transportation team, and could always be found in the kitchen at the pancake breakfasts. Bowling and golf were his life-time hobbies. Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at ARLINGTON HILLS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1115 Greenbrier Street on Wednesday, August 12, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Union Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Arlington Hills Lutheran Church.
