Age 87 of Maplewood, Minnesota. Verna Marie Brown made her transition on December 16, 2015. Verna was born on February 2, 1928 to James and Alma Brown in Tracy, Minnesota. She was the fourth of five children. She was preceded in death by two of her brothers, Lawrence J. and Walter R. Brown. She is survived by her sister, Helen B. Nordquist of Maplewood, Minnesota and brother, Lester E. Brown of Brownsville, Texas. She was surrounded during her last days by her god-child, Rebecca L. Grignon, her sister-in-law, Marilyn J. Brown, her loving sister, Helen, and her "baby" brother Les. She enjoyed spending time with her numerous nieces & nephews. Prior to her illness Verna enjoyed traveling with her mother, sister Helen and long-time friend, Lorraine Schafer. Verna was a life-long supporter and member of Arlington Hills Lutheran Church and resided with her best friend, sister Helen at Bennington Woods in Maplewood. There will be no visitation. Verna will be interred at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. A private graveside service will be held for the family. Memorial services will be held in the small chapel at ARLINGTON HILLS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1115 Greenbrier St, St. Paul, MN at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 22, 2015. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Arlington Hills Lutheran Church are preferred.
