Obituary of Robert J Thompson

Robert Thompson "Uncle Bobby" Age 93 of Saint Paul Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 20. 2016. Preceded in death by his parents; siblings; special daughter, Gayle; and the true love of his life, his wife, Helen. Survived by special nephew, Gene (Geri) Slattum and many other nieces & nephews. Bobby served in the Navy in WWII and was the epitome of the greatest generation. A lifelong electrician and avid golfer, he was smart, practical, meticulous, hard working and strong. Uncle Bobby was loved by all who were lucky enough to know him and will be sorely missed. He will be forever remembered for his kind and gentle spirit, cute smile, funny observations of the obvious and his amazing ability to wiggle his ears. A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at Ecumen and Brighton hospice for the love and special care they gave our beloved Uncle Bobby. Visitation Monday 3-6pm with a 6pm Funeral at ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 1401 Arcade St., St. Paul. Memorials preferred to The American Lung Association.
