Obituary of Anna Hushcha
Please share a memory of Anna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Supported and surrounded by the love and care of her family, Ann passed away Saturday morning, February 27, 2016, following a brief illness. Born December 3, 1923 in Ukraine, husband Michael Hushcha; parents Fedir and Vaska. Anna fled war-torn Ukraine with her husband and eldest son, Michael, to Villach, Austria in 1945 where they lived for four years and second son, Leon, was born. In 1949 the family emigrated to New York, ultimately settling in St. Paul, MN where third son, Anatoly, was born; the three sons birthplaces representing Anna’s and Mike’s migration path to their life in the United States. Devoted parents, Anna and her husband worked tirelessly to achieve the American dream of providing a better life and education for their children. Anna is survived by sons Michael, Leon (Sally Wheaton Hushcha), and Tony; as well as very special friend, Jennifer Carnes. The family is deeply grateful for the peace and loving care provided by Our Lady of Peace Home in St. Paul. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 321 5th Ave. NE, Mpls. MN 55413. Visitation 1 hour prior to service. Reception to follow at the church. Private interment. Memorials preferred to Our Lady of Peace Home, 2076 St. Anthony Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55104.
