Obituary of Leonard H. Skolnick

Passed away on August 18, 2016, in Oak Park Heights; he was 90.
A member of “the greatest generation,” he served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946, saw active combat in the European Theater of Operations, and was later part of the Allied occupation of Austria.
Upon separation from military service, he enrolled in the State University of New York at Albany, receiving Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in business education and administration in 1950-51.
He held several teaching positions prior to joining the faculty at the Seaford, New York Senior High School in 1957. Here, he assumed assignments of increasing responsibility before being appointed as the school’s principal, the position from which he retired several years later.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jeanne Skolnick, and son Steven (Jodie).
Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
