Obituary of Allegra Nelson

Allegra Nelson, 85, passed away in North St. Paul on October 16, 2016, and was surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held at Anderson Funeral Home, 1401 Arcade St (Hwy 61), St. Paul on Wednesday, October 19, from 6:00 -8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at Buffalo Covenant Church at 10:30 on Thursday, October 20, with visitation one hour prior to the service. (1601 Hwy 25 North) Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Ida Township near Garfield, Minnesota. Allegra was born in Leaf Mountain, Minnesota to Friedolph and Victoria Anderson on October 23, 1930. She graduated from Alexandria High School in 1949. Allegra completed Medical Technical School in 1950. Allegra married Laurence Nelson in 1953, moved to Little Falls and lived there until 1983 when they moved to Buffalo Minnesota. They moved from Buffalo to Maplewood, Minnesota in 2015. Allegra raised four children, dedicating herself to a life of service to her family, church and community. Allegra is preceded in death by her parents. Allegra is survived by her husband, Laurence; sister, Janice Ann (Donald) Eiken of Sun Lakes, Arizona, brothers, Elwood (Donna) Anderson and Leslie (Marilyn) Anderson of Garfield, Minnesota; daughter Virginia (Charles) Fenrick of Maplewood, Minnesota, sons Gregory (Janet) Nelson of South St. Paul, Minnesota, Michael (Janet) Nelson of Coppell, Texas, Clayton (Susan) Nelson of Madison, Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Emily Nelson, Mallory (Erik) Nelson-Rehder, Caleb Nelson, Liam Nelson, Sean Nelson, and Alex Nelson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Buffalo Covenant Church, where they have been long time standing members.
