He was my 6th grade teacher and my favorite teacher. I had a bad childhood due to abuse and he tried to help me and I never forgot him. Don't remember any of my other teachers. Just learned of his passing today 19Feb 2017; it broke my heart, but I rejoice knowing he had a full life and he was a man of faith. God is good. Hoping his loved ones, friends & family are rejoicing his life instead of mourning his passing. To everything, there is a season. Thank You Mr. Nelson, your kindness did help me, it helped me to endure and become a good person after that storm. Good bye, my friend and my favorite teacher. Carol Newman (Ferris - married name).
