I am one of Nefa’s “very special” nieces. When she met and married my uncle John, my mom and aunt Evie took to her right away, setting the example for the rest of us. Us’ cousins are so glad they did! Two very special moments are when Nefa wanted to come to late husbands’ internment 4 years ago in January. Thankfully we didn’t have much snow that year (not like this year). And September, I was shocked to see her walk in the front door when I had my farewell open house before moving to Nevada.
Last July when cousin Kathy was here from Panama and cousin Gloria was here from Iowa, cousin Patty and I were all able to visit her at her apartment. Though we knew she couldn’t hear or see us well, it was a delight to be with her. It was always a treasure to hear her “stories”, and to hear her talk about her faith and walk with Christ. I am grateful to have had her for my aunt and I will miss her!
